How to link/unlink bulbs in LMS

If you accidentally linked the wrong bulb to an LMS PlayPosit link (this could be a module or assignment in Canvas), and you’d like to direct your students to a different bulb, you’re in the right place. This also applies if you used the old PlayPosit integration/tool, when you meant to use the new integration/tool. This is required if you hit the following error message: This bulb has already been assigned to this course and cannot be assigned in duplicate.

  1. Find the PlayPosit link within your LMS that has a bulb that needs to be unlinked. If you hit This bulb has already been assigned to this course and cannot be assigned in duplicate, this would be the PlayPosit link to which you previously assigned that bulb. If you cannot find the previous PlayPosit link in your LMS or you accidentally deleted the link before unlinking the bulb, you can skip to Step 3.
  2. Launch the PlayPosit link from your LMS and click Unlink from the LMS banner.
  3. Go to your Learning Management System and create a new PlayPosit link with the correct bulb, or tool. If the bulb was previously linked and you have not unlinked it successfully, you will be prompted to copy the bulb.
  4. Launch (or relaunch) the new PlayPosit link and confirm that the bulb in linked without a blue screen error message.
  5. Now that the bulb is properly linked to the new PlayPosit link, you may delete the original, previous link (which currently has no PlayPosit bulb link).

For advanced users

If you’d like to edit the assignment you’ve created in your LMS, as opposed to creating a new one, and deleting the old, this section is for you. This is possible in Canvas assignments, but not possible in Canvas modules since Canvas modules do not have a access to an Edit menu.
