YouTube Overlays Appearing
Recently, YouTube overlays such as "More Videos" are being displayed in the PlayPosit Player. These video overlays are within YouTube's control. PlayPosit is investigating why this is happening, but be aware that the YouTube overlay may intermittently appear over your PlayPosit bulbs.
Blank External Tool pop up in Canvas
Due to the latest Chrome update, version 83.0.4103.116, the External Tool Pop up in Canvas inconsistently appears blank. This is a known issue that Canvas is looking into. They do not have an ETA on when this will be resolved. If this does happen, please use a different browser such as FireFox, Safari, or Microsoft Edge.
Vimeo search in Designer is currently down.
Please use the following steps when using a Vimeo video:
- Go to Vimeo, search and find Vimeo video
- Copy Vimeo URL
- Paste Vimeo URL as INPUT URL in PlayPosit
Uploading video to PlayPosit
For certain institutions, recording your screen in PlayPosit will fail if done in Firefox. This is an issue because of the codecs that Firefox supports, and is being investigated. We recommend that you use Chrome, Edge, or Safari if you intend to use PlayPosit to record your screen.
May 20, 2921 - 4:25 PM - PlayPosit resolved an issue preventing the player from requesting caption files from Vimeo. All systems are once again operational as of My 22, 20221.
May 17th, 2021 12:00 PM EDT - We have identified the root cause and deployed a full fix. All systems are now operational.
May 17th, 2021 11:32 AM EDT - The PlayPosit player is currently down and showing a 404 error screen. We are currently investigating the issue.
May 11, 2021 - Learners accessing Broadcast assignments in an LMS were prompted to enter a V3 code. This has been resolved.
April 20, 2021 - Schoology Servers are degraded. Schoology Learning is currently encountering a partial service disruption as of April 20, 2021. The impact to PlayPosit is that Schoology is failing to accept PlayPosit grade exports.
February 17, 2021 - A slowdown was identified and resolved during a 10 minute period after 5PM MT.
December 16, 2020 - An iOS update caused our iPad detection logic to fail. Users may have experienced audio playback issues as a result. The Player's iPad detection has since been updated and PlayPosit will continue to monitor the situation.
November 12, 2020, 10:38am - 11:10 am PT - Intermittent playback issues on hosted videos.
September 15th, 2020 - Intermittent Vimeo and captions issues. Fixes have been implemented, and PlayPosit will continue to monitor the situation.
September 8th, 2020 - Intermittent downtime during morning of September 8th, resulting in 10 minutes of unscheduled maintenance downtime to scale infrastructure. PlayPosit will continue to monitor the situation .
August 17, 2020 - Dashboard loading issues, which have been resolved.
July 23, 2020 - 11:18 AM MST Intermittent server issue. 1:18 AM MST Resolved by rolling back server.
May 20, 2020 - LaTeX equation editor experiencing issues. The issue has been resolved.
April 15th 2020 - 9:43 AM MST Vimeo experienced outages that may have impacted Vimeo videos within PlayPosit. The issue has been resolved and is being monitored.
April 7th, 2020 - Vimeo is currently experiencing issues with its embedded player, please see their status page for more detail.
April 6th, 2020 - 9:54 AM MST: PlayPosit was experiencing an issue with login and LTI authentication, but has implemented a fix and is continuing to monitor the situation.
March 31, 2020 - 2:54 PM MST: Mux was experiencing difficulties, affecting HLS upload in the PlayPosit Designer. Please contact email@example.com if you think your video upload may have been affected.
March 4th, 2020 - 11:12 AM MST: Vimeo has implemented a fix and is continuing to monitor.
March 4th, 2020 - 10:46 AM MST: Vimeo player is experiencing a major outage. For more information, click here.
February 25th, 2020 - 3:30 PM: Server load is back to normal. We will continue to monitor the situation.
