For Admin: Set Up Private Video Hosts in PlayPosit

Installation
Kaltura
To set up the Kaltura integration, please provide the following information to PlayPosit (help@playposit.org).
- Partner ID
- Token ID
- App token value (using SHA1 encryption for the token hash)
- Should faculty have access to all the content in Kaltura regardless of ownership, or should they only be able to access their own content?
- Whether the user identifiers in Kaltura match the email faculty use to access PlayPoist (usually the same as the email they use for the LMS). If not, please provide a few representative user identifiers for discoverability.
Once we receive the requested information, PlayPosit will initiate the installation process from our end. We will notify you when the installation is complete, and you can proceed to the test steps to test out the Kaltura integration. If you are unable to select the host or encounter any difficulties with the video host, please contact support at help@playposit.org.
Mediasite
To set up the Mediasite integration, please provide the following information to PlayPosit (help@playposit.org).
- Mediasite API key
- Mediasite endpoint URL
- Credentials (user name and password) for an admin account that has Read and View permissions to all resources, including media, category, metadata, etc.
- Whether the user identifiers in Mediasite match the email faculty use to access PlayPoist (usually the same as the email they use for the LMS). If not, please provide a few representative user identifiers for discoverability.
- How we should configure your institution’s Mediasite integration:
- Users can see all folders and all videos, regardless of ownership
- Users can see all folders that they own, and all videos within those owned folders
- Users can see all folders that they own or have shared access to and all videos within those owned or shared folders
- Users can see only the videos that they specifically have uploaded (MyMediasite)
Once we receive the requested information, PlayPosit will initiate the installation process from our end. We will notify you when the installation is complete, and you can proceed to the test steps to test out the Mediasite integration. If you are unable to select the host or encounter any difficulties with the video host, please contact support at help@playposit.org.
Panopto
To set up the Panopto integration, please provide the following information to PlayPosit (help@playposit.org).
- The URL you use to access Panopto (it is usually something like https://#####.hosted.panopto.com)
- Credentials to a Creator account in your domain so that PlayPosit can test out the integration as well.
- Whether the user identifiers in Panopto match the email faculty use to access PlayPoist (usually the same as the email they use for the LMS). If not, please provide a few representative user identifiers for discoverability.
Once we receive the requested information, PlayPosit will initiate the installation process from our end. We will notify you when the installation is complete, and you can proceed to the test steps to test out the Panopto integration. If you are unable to select the host or encounter any difficulties with the video host, please contact support at help@playposit.org.
Wista
To set up the Wistia integration, please provide the following information to PlayPosit (help@playposit.org).
- Wistia key
- Public token
Once we receive the requested information, PlayPosit will initiate the installation process from our end. We will notify you when the installation is complete, and you can proceed to the test steps to test out the Wistia integration. If you are unable to select the host or encounter any difficulties with the video host, please contact support at help@playposit.org.
Zoom
To set up the Zoom integration, please follow the steps below.
- Sign into a Zoom admin account and click on this link or search for PlayPosit in the Zoom App Marketplace.
- Click Visit Site to Add to start the integration process.
- You will be redirected to a PlayPosit login screen. Enter PlayPosit credentials.
- Click Allow to integrate Zoom with PlayPosit.
- Please allow up to three business days for PlayPosit to manually approve the integration. You will receive an email at the email address associated with your account once approved.
- Once approved, the app is installed.
Yuja
To set up the Yuja integration, please provide the following information to PlayPosit (help@playposit.org).
- Organization subdomain
- Authentication token (see instructions here)
- Username and password to a test account inside the institution’s YuJa license (not required, but recommended)
- Whether the user identifiers in Yuja match the email faculty use to access PlayPoist (usually the same as the email they use for the LMS). If not, please provide a few representative user identifiers for discoverability.
Once we receive the requested information, PlayPosit will initiate the installation process from our end. We will notify you when the installation is complete, and you can proceed to the test steps to test out the YuJa integration. If you are unable to select the host or encounter any difficulties with the video host, please contact support at help@playposit.org.
Canvas Studio
To set up the Canvas Studio integration, please provide the following information to PlayPosit (help@playposit.org).
- A Canvas Studio API key sets to specific scopes and redirects URIs. Create one by following these steps:
- Navigate to Studio Setting > Developer keys (see these instructions to create the correct developer key)
- Create a new developer key:
- Name: PlayPosit Canvas Studio Integration
- Redirect URL(each URL on a new line):
- Copy the client_id and client_secret, and pass them on to PlayPosit.
- The domain of your Canvas Studio instance (Usually something like https://xxxxxxxx.instructuremedia.com)
- (Optional) Credentials to a test account in your institution’s Canvas instance for testing purposes
Once we receive the requested information, PlayPosit will initiate the installation process from our end. We will notify you when the installation is complete, and you can proceed to the test steps to test out the Canvas Studio integration. If you are unable to select the host or encounter any difficulties with the video host, please contact support at help@playposit.org.
Test Video Host
- Click the Add New Bulb button on the My Bulbs page.

Select the installed video host option.

Verify if the user ID is correct and if you can see media from this account

Select one of the videos to add to the Bulb, then click the play button on the lower right to confirm the video playback works as expected.
FAQ
Can a license have multiple video hosts?
Yes! Multiple video hosts can be installed on the same license. Please discuss with your Customer Success Manager about having multiple video hosts for your license if needed.
The user ID for the video host is incorrect. How can I update the user ID?
If the user ID pulled for your account is incorrect, please follow the steps below to update the user ID.
- Click your name on the top of the left sidebar.

Select User Settings, and scroll down to the Video Integrations section.

Enter the correct ID and click Update Integrations.

Once the change is approved, you can connect to the correct account with your user ID.
How to uninstall a video host from the license?
Please contact PlayPost (help@playposit.org) to uninstall the video host for your license.
