First time set up for new users

Link your Screencastify account to your PlayPosit account.

  1. Use the Screencastify browser extension to create a screen recording. Click here for directions. 
  2. The screen recording will open in a new browser tab.
  3. Under the Share menu on the right side of the screen, click More options
  4. In the drop down menu, click Add more share options
  5. In the new tab, select the toggle next to PlayPosit
  6. Close this tab and refresh the browser tab with the screen recording. In the right sidebar, there will now be an option to Upload to PlayPosit.
  7. Be sure to title the video and/or make any edits necessary before uploading to PlayPosit. To learn more about editing within Screencastify, click here
  8. Click on the Upload to PlayPosit share option. 
  9. The first time Upload to Playposit is clicked, a Google single sign on (SSO) pop-up will appear. Choose the account with the same email address that is connected to your PlayPosit account. 
  10. Click on the Google Drive button to initiate the transfer of the file to PlayPositNote: If the school does not have an institutional license with PlayPosit, an invalid screen will appear. Contact help@playposit.org to find out more about institutional licenses. 
  11. After the account is authenticated through Google SSO, a Processing or Success screen will appear. 
    1. A Processing screen means that the video is uploading. Note: Longer videos take longer to upload to PlayPosit. 
    2. A Success screen means that the video has successfully been processed within PlayPosit. 
  12. After transcoding is complete, the recording can be used in PlayPosit. Click here for directions on how to add the Screencastify video to a bulb. 

Existing Screencastify users

Add a Screencastify recording to your PlayPosit account.

  1. Use the Screencastify browser extension to create a screen recording. Click here for directions. 
  2. The screen recording will open in a new browser tab.
  3. Be sure to title the video and/or make any edits necessary before uploading to PlayPosit. To learn more about editing within Screencastify, click here.  
  4.  Click on the Upload to PlayPosit share option to initiate the transfer of the file to PlayPosit.

Add a Screencastify video to a bulb

Create a bulb with a Screencastify video.

  1. To create a new bulb, click Add New Bulb from the My Bulbs page or open an existing bulb. 
  2. In the bulb designer, select My Videos
  3. In the My Videos tab click on the newly created screen recording. 
  4. Click Done to add the video to the bulb. 
  5. After a screencastify screen recording has been added to a bulb, interactions and other features can be added to add interactivity to the recording in the designer. Click here to read more about the PlayPosit bulb designer.
