Screencastify

First time set up for new users
Link your Screencastify account to your PlayPosit account.
- Use the Screencastify browser extension to create a screen recording. Click here for directions.
- The screen recording will open in a new browser tab.
- Under the Share menu on the right side of the screen, click More options.
- In the drop down menu, click Add more share options.
- In the new tab, select the toggle next to PlayPosit.
- Close this tab and refresh the browser tab with the screen recording. In the right sidebar, there will now be an option to Upload to PlayPosit.
- Be sure to title the video and/or make any edits necessary before uploading to PlayPosit. To learn more about editing within Screencastify, click here.
- Click on the Upload to PlayPosit share option.
- The first time Upload to Playposit is clicked, a Google single sign on (SSO) pop-up will appear. Choose the account with the same email address that is connected to your PlayPosit account.
- Click on the Google Drive button to initiate the transfer of the file to PlayPosit
Note: If the school does not have a Screencastify integration in the license, an invalid screen will appear.
- After the account is authenticated through Google SSO, a Processing or Success screen will appear.
- A Processing screen means that the video is uploading. Note: Longer videos take longer to upload to PlayPosit.
- A Success screen means that the video has successfully been processed within PlayPosit.
- A Processing screen means that the video is uploading. Note: Longer videos take longer to upload to PlayPosit.
- After transcoding is complete, the recording can be used in PlayPosit. Click here for directions on how to add the Screencastify video to a bulb.
Existing Screencastify users
Add a Screencastify recording to your PlayPosit account.

Add a Screencastify video to a bulb
Create a bulb with a Screencastify video.
- To create a new bulb, click Add New Bulb from the My Bulbs page or open an existing bulb.
- In the bulb designer, select My Videos.
- In the My Videos tab click on the newly created screen recording.
- Click Done to add the video to the bulb.
- After a screencastify screen recording has been added to a bulb, interactions and other features can be added to add interactivity to the recording in the designer. Click here to read more about the PlayPosit bulb designer.
