Download Uploaded Videos from PlayPosit

IMPORTANT NOTES:
  • Only the video uploaded or recorded through HLS can be downloaded from PlayPosit. Videos added through the video host (YouTube, Panopto, etc.) are not downloadable.
  • When downloading the file, interactions are not downloaded along with the video. You can follow the steps in this article to export the interactions into a worksheet.
  • The downloaded files are in .m3u8 format. If you can not play the files or need to use them in other formats, please use file converters to convert them to the file formats you want to use.

Upload videos through HLS minutes

Users with a Pro or institutional license opting for the HLS video uploading feature can upload or record videos directly in PlayPosit Bulb designer. Please see this article for more information about uploading videos to PlayPosit.

Download the uploaded videos

Click the thumbnail of the Bulb that has the videos you want to download and select Edit. Please note that the video must be added to at least one Bulb to download from PlayPosit.

Switch to the Video Segments tab, and click on the video you wish to download.

Copy the URL at the top and paste it into a new tab. The download will start automatically.

The downloaded files are in .m3u8 format. If you can not play the files or need to use them in other formats, please use file converters to convert them to the file formats you want to use.

FAQs

Why can’t I play the downloaded videos?

The downloaded m3u8 file is a unique format that not all video players support. Please find the video player that supports this file format or the converter to convert the file to the format you want.

Why is there no URL when examining the video segments?

The download URL is only available for the video uploaded through HLS. If the video is added to the Bulb using other methods, there will be no download URL for the video segments.
