What will be included in the table of contents?

The following information will be displayed in the table of contents:

  1. The video segments in the bulb before the table of contents is added.

The instructor can edit the items in the table of contents, and when learners take the bulb, they can jump to the desired section by clicking items in the table of contents.

FAQ

When is the best time to add the table of contents?

The table of contents will include all the video segments and interactions that are already in the bulb when the table of contents is added. Therefore, the recommended timing to add the table of contents will be after all the video segments and interactions that the instructor wants to show on the table of contents are added to the bulb and before the instructor add in other interactions that don’t need to be displayed on the table of contents.

Why turn on fast forward and skip interactions for learners?

To allow learners to jump to different bulb sections, they will need to be able to move from different timestamps in the bulb. Therefore, the instructor will need to enable the fast forward option to allow learners to jump from timestamp to timestamp with the table of contents.
Similarly, if there is an unskippable interaction in the Bulb, Learners will be forced to stop at that interaction and can’t jump to the desired part of the bulb. For example, if a learner needs to jump from 1:00 to 2:00 in a Bulb, and there is a required interaction at 1:30. Then the learners will end up stopping at 1:30 to answer the question and will not be sent to the desired timestamp.

How to create bookmarks that will display in the table of contents but not interrupt the video playback?

Instructors can add the pause interactions as bookmarks to each crucial part of the video, add the table of contents to show all the bookmarks, and then remove the pause interactions so they will not interrupt the video playback. Removing the pause interactions from the bulb will not affect the items in the table of contents as long as the table of contents is added before the pause interactions are removed. Please follow the steps below to create the bookmarks with pause interactions.
  1. Add Pause interactions to the crucial parts of the video. Instructors can enter some placeholder texts for the pause interactions.

  2. Follow the instructions in the previous section to create the table of contents and adjust the bulb settings.

  3. Hover over the pause interaction and click the Remove button on the top right of it to delete the pause interaction. Repeat this step to delete all the bookmarks in the bulb.

  4. Now learners can navigate with the items in the table of contents without being disrupted by the pause interaction.
